Meetings of the Acoustical Society of America in 2021

The Society holds two meetings each year, most of which are held at various locations in the USA and Canada. At each meeting, invited and contributed papers and poster presentations usually number between 800 and 1100, and they reflect the diversity and interests of the membership. Tutorials, lectures, technical and standards committee meetings, and visits to university, government, and industrial laboratories are regular features, along with receptions and a variety of social programs. These meetings offer opportunities for students and young researchers as well as experienced acousticians to share information. Meetings in 2021 are:

Noise and Vibration Emerging Methods (NOVEM 2021)
Auckland, New Zealand, 26-28 January 2021

This conference takes place every three years, with the aim to give an account of emerging technologies in the fields of structural vibration, vibro-acoustics, flow-induced noise & vibration, and noise & vibration control.

Events - September 2020

Symposium on Thermoacoustics in Combustion: Industry meets Academia
Munich, Germany, 14–17 September 2020

This symposium will take place at the Garching Campus of the Technical University Munich. There will be themed sessions on physical mechanisms, transverse modes, flame response, limit cycles, stability analysis, etc; each session will start with an expert invited lecture, followed by contributed talks. Selected papers presented at the symposium will be published in a special issue of the International Journal of Spray and Combustion Dynamics after peer review.

International Congress on Sound and Vibration 2020 (ICSV27)
Prague, Czech Republic, 12-16 July 2020

The ICSV is a leading annual event in the area of acoustics and vibration and provides an important opportunity for scientists and engineers to share their latest research results and exchange ideas on theories, technologies and applications in these fields. As in previous years, the ICSV27 will feature a broad range of technical papers from across the world. There will be a special session on "Combustion noise and thermoacoustics" (T03 SS03), which is being organised by Prof. Maria Heckl. It is anticipated that future ICSVs will form a regular forum for disseminating POLKA research.
The deadline for abstract submission is 1 December 2019 - now extended to 31 January 2020.
Peer review of contributed papers is available as an option selected by the author.
