Alex Bottaro – University of Genova, Italy

TANGO Network - Alex BottaroProfessor of Fluid Dynamics. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Università di Genova (1983), Fulbright Fellow at Rutgers University, NJ, USA (1984-1988); Ph.D. in 1988. Researcher first, then Lecturer at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland (1988-1997). In 1997 appointment as Professor at the Université Paul Sabatier in Toulouse, France. Appointment as Professor “Clear Renown“ at the Università di Genova in 2003, in the frame of an Italian National Programme aimed at counteracting “brain drain“. He has (or has been) member of the steering committee of the fluid mechanics and energy section of the French CNRT (Centre National de Recherche Technologique) on Aeronautics and Space, President of the Scientific Committee of the French Foundation on Aeronautics and Space (RTRA STAE), “expert” for the European Union, and reviewer for funding agencies in Sweden, France, Italy, the United States, Canada and Israel. His research is (has been) funded by French, Italian and Swiss funding agencies, and by industry (Airbus, Siemens, Ansaldo, Oto Melara, Selex Galileo MUAS). He is author/co-author of 60 refereed journal publications and one patent.
