Task 2.1 – Experimental Study of Nonlinear Dynamics of a Tunable Bluff-Body Combustor

Task 2.1 of the TANGO Network is centered on a laminar dump combustor. An existing rig, which is designed to operate in the self-excited regime and at the margins of it, will be modified to allow optical diagnostics involving PIV, chemiluminescence, CCD camera, etc. The rig will also be instrumented with multiple microphones for acoustic measurements. There will be strong interaction with tasks 1.1 and 1.2, which study the cold-flow equivalent of the laminar dump combustor.
